The Impact of Technology on Transportation in the Supply Chain

The Impact of Technology on Transportation in the Supply Chain 1

The supply chain is the backbone of global trade, ensuring that goods move efficiently from production centers to consumers. Central to this is the transportation component, responsible for ensuring that products are moved reliably, efficiently, and at a reasonable cost. As technological advancements surge ahead, transportation within the supply chain is experiencing profound transformations. This article sheds light on how technology is reshaping the way goods are transported globally.

1. Real-time Tracking

With the integration of GPS and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, real-time tracking of shipments has become commonplace. These technologies allow businesses to monitor the location of their goods in real-time, ensuring timely deliveries and addressing delays promptly. This leads to better decision-making, improved customer satisfaction, and optimized operations.

2. Autonomous Vehicles

The rise of autonomous vehicles, especially in trucking, promises to revolutionize transportation in the supply chain. With driverless trucks, companies can expect fewer human errors, reduced operational costs, and round-the-clock shipping capabilities. As regulations catch up with the technology, the widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles will reshape the logistics landscape. This is where working with transportation logistics consultants comes into play, so that your company can stay ahead of the most efficient ways to transport your goods.

3. Advanced Analytics

Big Data and Machine Learning are offering unprecedented insights into transportation operations. Companies can analyze patterns, predict potential disruptions, and streamline operations using these analytical tools. This results in more efficient routes, better fuel management, and anticipatory adjustments to disruptions like weather or traffic.

4. Blockchain in Logistics

Blockchain technology, with its transparent and immutable nature, promises to address longstanding issues like fraud, theft, and documentation errors. By maintaining a digital ledger of all transactions and movements, every stakeholder in the supply chain can verify and trust the authenticity of the products being moved.

5. Drones and Aerial Deliveries

For last-mile deliveries, especially in hard-to-reach areas, drones are becoming increasingly viable. They offer quick, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, drastically reducing delivery times and human intervention.

6. Electric and Green Vehicles

With increasing focus on sustainability, the transport sector within the supply chain is witnessing a shift towards electric and eco-friendly vehicles. These not only reduce the carbon footprint of companies but also offer long-term cost benefits due to reduced fuel and maintenance expenses.

7. Robot-Assisted Loading and Unloading

Warehouses and distribution centers are employing robots to aid in loading and unloading tasks. This reduces the time taken in these processes, minimizes human errors, and leads to more efficient space utilization.

8. Smart Ports and Digital Twins

Major ports worldwide are turning to digital solutions to optimize operations. Digital twins, which are virtual replicas of physical systems, allow operators to simulate and predict how different factors will affect operations, ensuring smoother and faster shipments.

9. 3D Printing

Although not directly a transportation technology, 3D printing has the potential to localize manufacturing, thereby reducing the need for extensive transportation. Goods can be produced closer to where they are needed, minimizing transport costs and times.

10. Dynamic Route Optimization

With advanced software solutions, vehicles’ routes can be dynamically adjusted based on real-time data. This leads to reduced fuel consumption, quicker deliveries, and better utilization of transport assets. With these updated technologies, site selection becomes much more of an importance.

Benefits of Technological Integration

The symphony between technology and transportation isn’t just beautiful; it’s beneficial. Goods reach their destinations faster, thanks to algorithms and optimized routes. Costs are shrinking, with automated processes minimizing human errors and maximizing efficiency. Transparency, once a luxury, is now a given, with stakeholders enjoying unparalleled visibility into shipments. Advanced safety protocols have led to fewer accidents. Moreover, the environmental impacts of transportation are mitigated with the rise of electric vehicles and efficient route management.

Challenges and Concerns

However, this golden age isn’t without its shadows. The digital embrace has made supply chains susceptible to cyber threats. Companies are grappling with the initial costs of integrating these technologies, a significant financial hurdle for smaller players. Regulatory frameworks, especially concerning autonomous vehicles and drones, are in a nascent stage in many regions, leading to operational uncertainties. Additionally, the specter of job displacement due to automation looms large. And, an overt reliance on technology could potentially introduce new vulnerabilities.

Case Studies

A leading electronics manufacturer, ElectroHub, pivoted to blockchain, enhancing operational transparency. This move bolstered its credibility, leading to a 20% increase in partnerships within a year.

SwiftLogistics, a global logistics giant, tapped into AI for route optimization. The result? A 15% reduction in delivery times and millions saved in fuel costs.

Retail heavyweight, MarketMaven, integrated IoT across its supply chain, translating into 30% faster deliveries and a surge in customer satisfaction.

Future Predictions

As the horizon unfolds, we can anticipate supply chains operating with robotic precision, with minimal human intervention. Green technologies will be the norm rather than the exception, with carbon footprints shrinking further. And perhaps, we might see the likes of the hyperloop transporting goods, challenging our very perceptions of speed.

The tapestry of transportation in the supply chain is witnessing vibrant new patterns, thanks to technological threads. While challenges persist, the overarching narrative is one of progress, promise, and unprecedented potential. As the wheels of this revolution churn, businesses must hop on this journey or risk being left behind.

Technology is paving the way for a more efficient, sustainable, and reliable transportation landscape within the supply chain. As these innovations become mainstream, businesses need to stay abreast and adapt to remain competitive. The transportation metamorphosis propelled by technology promises not only operational benefits but also a more sustainable future for global trade.

8 Questions to Ask When Leasing a Car

8 Questions to Ask When Leasing a Car 2

Leasing a car is a wonderful way of care-free car non-ownership. You get a drive a new car every 2 to 3 years and you aren’t either liable to do the repairs unless they give you a problem. However, leasing a car isn’t a piece of cake all those ads would have you believe. Leasing agreements can vary greatly from one dealership to another, so it is important to understand the agreements and of course shop around for what you need. Also, before signing on that dotted line, you should read the fine print.
Many little details can make leasing a car, an ugly smear on your credit report and bank account. There are many questions that you need to find the answers for and if you are thinking about what to ask when leasing a car. Then you need not worry when as we are here for help. We are Oz Leasing and have been in the industry for over a decade offering an online leasing facility. Here in this blog post, we will discuss the questions to ask when leasing a car.

8 Questions to Ask When Leasing a Car 3

Which is better, lease or buy a car?
The answer to this question is, it depends. If you drive a lot of miles annually or you would like to keep your vehicle for a long time, then car leasing might not be your best option. However, if you look forward to driving a new car every two to three years and aren’t interested in the trade-in/selling process of your current car, you could be a prime candidate for a car lease. But, the difference between auto car leasing or buying comes down to your financial, automotive, and personal needs.

How long is the lease for?
Most car lease agreements are for two, three, or four years. You need to think about which option suits you best. When you are looking to lease a car and have finalized the one, ask what lease contract lengths are available for that model. We usually recommend two or three years, but if you find better deals on other terms we include those as well.

What are some of the jargon I should know?
When leasing a car there are certain terms you need to be aware of which are as mentioned below.
MSRP – The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price or sticker price, it is set by the car company. It is a recommended selling price that dealers use to sell each vehicle. It is different from invoice price on a car and can vary from dealer to dealer.
Capitalized Cost – The price of the car is known as capitalized cost. You must know about it when leasing a car because it would help in negotiating. Negotiate on this as much as you can while leasing a car because the lower capitalized cost will ultimately result in a lower monthly installment.
Money Factor – Also called a leasefactor. lower this number, the better. Dealers are sometimes unwilling to reveal the money factor, so be persistent.
Residual Value – It is the value of the car at the end of the lease. An inflated residual value lowers your monthly payments, but it can also handcuff you. A realistic residual value will make it easier to sell the lease, trade your car mid-lease, or buy the car at the end of the lease.

How much mileage is included?
All car leasing deals have a certain amount of mileage included. You can specify how much mileage you need in your lease agreement. We include 10,000 mileage in our agreements, but it can be customized as per your needs. They can start from 5,000 per year up to 30,000. We recommend going for a realistic range.
Are servicing and maintenance included?
Some of our car leasing contracts have service and maintenance included for an additional cost and are displayed on the individual car offer pages. Maintenance is included in your monthly payments, such as all servicing, tires replacement, and other routine maintenance needed.

Do I need GAP insurance?
This is the most important question to ask when leasing a car. You would want to purchase GAP insurance, this is because in case your car gets written off, or is stolen, GAP insurance will cover the cost that your insurance company won’t pay out for.

What happens at the end of the lease?
When your lease ends, the car dealer will check for fair wear and tear and is returned to the manufacturer. However, if they find any significant issues, then you would need to pay extra for the repairs.

8 Questions to Ask When Leasing a Car 4

What are excess mileage charges?
If you go over your agreed mileage, you will need to pay extra charges. So, you must know about it before. Mileage charges vary depending on the manufacturer so it’s definitely worth asking.

So, these are some of the questions to ask when leasing a car. If you are looking for great leasing deals, then Oz Leasing offers you many. You can lease a car online easily, compare, and save your time. Visit our website to see how it works.

Run your startup the Toyota way

deals on toyota camry leases

Toyota is known for its manufacturing efficiency. We’ve probably all heard that if a worker on the Camry line sees a problem, they have the authority to stop the line and address it. At the end of the day, teams meet to discuss what went wrong and what fixes actually fixed things. It’s called the Toyota Production System, or TPS, and, like any tech cult, it’s got lots of lingo and acronyms. (Try throwing around “Let’s kaizen this” if you want to seem in the know.) But it also can work for a startup as easily as it can work for the massive automotive manufacturer.

Jamie Bonini, the vice president of the Toyota Production System Support Center, preaches the TPS gospel to organizations in North America and, recently, Australia. He’s worked with small manufacturers, hospitals and government agencies to teach them how to use Toyota’s principles in their particular settings. “You start with the customer,” Bonini said during a panel at the Aspen Ideas Festival. “Are they getting what they want? Then you work back from there.”

The point of TPS is to create a culture where problems are not repeated in order to achieve the end goal of improving quality. That’s as applicable to apps as it is to automobiles. In an interview after the panel, Bonini outlined the basics of the system, which has three parts:

The philosophy that the customer needs to be served by the process and that the people who create the widget — whether that’s a car or a car-sharing app — are the most valuable resource in the organization.
The use of tech tools to establish flow through entire organization — and to halt that flow when necessary. Managers need to develop their teams so that the people closest to the problem can solve that problem.
The application of engineering and design to understand that flow, from the overall project plan to the precise sequence of steps required to complete a task. This can be reviewed every day or every week, but it needs to be revisited often.
These pillars, Bonini said, are “timeless.” Advanced technology can make the TPS system work better, but the focus on people — both those in the organization and the customer at the end of the process — remains an important part of the triangle.

“All three pieces of TPS must work,” Bonini said. “A lot of business leaders have never heard of all three pieces; they put all their emphasis on the tech tools.” Whether you’re in a 10-person startup or a 1,000-employee hospital, these three principals should work together to create a culture of trust and innovation.

Honda Clarity grows from one-shot to series

best honda civic lease incentives

For years, the Honda Clarity has been one thing: a hydrogen fuel-cell-powered sedan available for lease to a vetted group of early adopters in California. Now in its third generation, the Honda Clarity fuel-cell car is still basically that. But it’s getting a couple of friends.

This year, the Honda Clarity adds two new versions: an all-electric car and a plug-in hybrid. Granted, the fuel cell Clarity is technically an electric car, but the electric version charges at any outlet rather than being fueled at a so-far rare hydrogen fueling station.

The three were shown together for the first time in the United States since their unveiling at the New York Auto Show at the Drive Revolution event in Portland, Oregon. Journalists had the chance to drive them back to back to evaluate their similarities and differences over short urban routes — and to compare them to their energy-efficient competitors. There are, of course, similarities in the design; these are all Clarity models. There are subtle differences in the grilles, and they have badging specific to their drivetrain type, but otherwise they are identical large four-door sedans.

This one-car-many-powertrains strategy is one other manufacturers are using, as well, especially when it comes to advanced drivetrain technologies. Hyundai, for example, has the Ioniq series, with hybrid, PHEV and EV versions. As Natalie Kumaratne, a Clarity specialist for Honda, pointed out, this makes it easier for manufacturers to respond to changes in consumers’ buying habits.

Right now, PHEVs are gaining in popularity, and the Clarity PHEV will be available in all 50 states. The Clarity fuel cell is only available in California because that’s where the infrastructure exists to make these cars practical. The Clarity EV is somewhere in the middle of that mix. When hydrogen stations become more widespread, or when EV demand reaches a tipping point, the mix can change at the factory in Japan more easily than if these were separate models.

Best Car Deals near You

Cheap Car Leasing

Buying a car can be stressful and often completely fruitless. You can’t just show up to a car showroom and look at what you find best the way you do with clothes. It needs prior commitment and research. For someone with no knowledge of cars whatsoever, it can be incredibly hard to land good deals. Some people even consult professional car deal consultants before making a car purchase. See, a car isn’t something that you can return because the size doesn’t fit or give away to your sister. It’s something that stays with you for years and making the right choice at the right time directly affects its time with you in the future.

So how can you find out the best car deals in Florida? One, don’t believe websites that display car deals. Pictures can be flattering and the internet is a useful tool in connecting buyers with sellers, but you should never trust a car’s condition over a photo. It’s never advised and often backfires. The amount of inspection that a car needs before being bought can never be completed over the internet or phone. So it’s essential to meet the seller and talk about the car’s mileage history in detail as well.

If I want to look up any BMW car deals, I’d need a car consultant who has had experience dealing with BMW cars. Since not all car companies make their engines and technologies the same, it’s possible that if I’m searching for Ford car deals or Honda car deals, I can’t take advice from someone who specializes in simpler engines like Toyota or complex ones like Ferrari. When you find the car you think suits you, don’t make a decision too quickly. Call up the seller and set up a meeting, then take a car specialist with you to tell you if you should really buy the car.

Used cars are of course, like all other pre-loved things, cheaper than new cars, but not too much. The monetary value of the car just depends on its depreciation. A car depreciates faster than other goods. A small scratch can reduce its value by lots of dollars. Even cars that are fixed never return back to the value they were at when they were untouched. An expert can always tell where a car has been retouched or re-painted from. So, always look for cars that are well kept and have incurred minimum damage.

Re-sale value is always one of the major factors in buying cars. Even among the best car deals in Florida, you should never settle for a car that sells super cheap for how much its actual worth according to its depreciation would. If the car is selling cheaper than it should be, consider that a huge red flag. The car is either going to break down or get you in trouble. And if none of that happens, it has extremely low resale value which means you’ll get peanuts in re-sale. Happy car shopping!

Buy Or Lease? You Decide

Buy Or Lease? You Decide 5

Cars are almost a necessity in this day and age. You need transportation to get around the city and although there is public transport everywhere, everyone feels the need to upgrade to a personal vehicle at some point in their lives. And that is when we all start looking for cars to buy or loan. But a smart purchase is the one where you save money and bag the best deals. Here’s how you can make your smart car purchase or go about leasing a car in Florida in the best of ways.

If you plan on going for lease or loan, remember to tell the seller beforehand. This will save both your and their time. Many times when people wish to opt for cheap car leasing, they get a demo of the car before informing their salesperson about their intention of buying or leasing. That’s not fair if the seller is not willing to lease. This will even save you a lot of time in negotiating the price as prices differ for both the options with cars. Here is an easy way to understand leasing vs. buying a car.

When you lease a car, you’re paying mostly for the depreciation and that payment is often less than your monthly payment if you’re buying a car. However, your payments end when you have paid off the required amount or the worth of the car whereas, in the lease, you keep paying as long as you plan to lease. Even though payments for buying are much higher, it finishes off in time. But experts still suggest leasing over buying for people who can put aside a specific amount of money each month for lease payments because they are low. In payments, they might have to put aside way more albeit for a short time.

Cheap car leasing is as easy as anything if you work smart enough. If the car you’re wishing to have is less expensive, there are higher chances of it getting approved for lease or loan compared to those with a higher monetary value. Similarly, in case of buying, always look for cars with a greater resale value as that ensures your money back if you ever wish to get rid of it later. Colors such as silver, white, and black often have more market demand than other colors due to their resale value so make sure you pick one of those.

After you have figured out the difference between leasing vs. buying a car, you can go about owning a car. The thing about owning is, however, that you get to do whatever you want to the car if you’ve bought it because you have complete ownership over it. The same can’t be said for lease. Leasing a car in Florida, thankfully, offers both options to suitable customers. You can find everything suiting your needs right here in the region’s top car dealers who not only give you excellent deals but also expert advice on your car.

With the amount of time I’m saving up, I can explore even more options for the car I wish to buy and dig out the least expensive one that is also efficient. This way, I’ll benefit even more from every Miami car sale around.

It’s lovely to be able to utilize the internet for things that would normally take a lot of time. And when it comes to cars, you need the quickest response you can get which is also another excellent reason to opt for online car lease calculation. So go ahead and raid through every car for sale to find your dream car.

Four Reasons Why Car Leasing Is Smarter Than Buying

Online Car Leasing

We all know at least one person who considers leasing a car to be wasteful. However, if you actually work the numbers and do your research, you would find out that leasing a car might just be the smarter option to drive a new vehicle.

This advice is not just for people with day jobs. Leasing can be a great option even if you are a car enthusiast.

  1. You are only paying for the depreciation:

It can be a bit difficult for one to make the decision between leasing and buying their car. Some people argue that buying a new car doesn’t make sense because it hits you with a massive depreciation. However, wouldn’t it be nice if you could drive the car you like and only pay for the depreciation amount?

Basically, leasing a car involves paying the difference between the sale price and the residual value. Of course, you are required to give the car back by the end of your term, but it only is a problem if you are actually interested in the ownership. Many people just want to drive the car they like while paying for the expenses, within their monthly budget.

  1. You can avail more value for your money:

Why would anyone make payments on Toyota Camry when they could drive BMW 3-series for less?

If a brand new 2015 Camry XSE was for $33,500, with $4000 down payment, at 3% for 60 months, would cost you about $530 per month. On the other hand, a nicely equipped BMW 328 costing $41,500, with down payment of $4,000 for 39 months would cost $359 per month. Just for this example, let’s assume you can afford $530 per month to lease the 3-series; you could be pocketing a savings of $6,660 over the period of 39 months. You could use these savings to make down payment to your next vehicle.

This means that even with the same down payment, trying to get a lease on the new BMW will make comparatively a smaller dent in your monthly budget than owning the Camry.

  1. You don’t have to worry about maintenance and repairs:

Most people would prefer not to make both car payments and repair and maintenance payments at the same time. When a leasing a car, your vehicle is under the factory warranty coverage, which allows you not to worry about the repair budgeting. Some services will even cover small things like oil changes and brakes for initial years, which make fuel the only added cost.

With more people turning to 72 and 84 months loans, don’t realize the risk of additional expenses that arise when issues come up. Many of these people may have to then take out extended loan terms, which would have been better off with leasing one or even more brand new cars during the same period of time.

  1. You can write it off:

If you are one of those fancy entrepreneurs or if you own your own business, you might be able to turn a portion or all of your lease payment as a tax deduction. Even though it largely depends on the nature of your work and the type of vehicle you decide to lease, but it is highly recommended to consult a tax accountant expert who can guide you the best.

Moreover, some organizations offer vehicle stipend to their employees. As long as someone else is paying for it, lease the nicest car for yourself.

Millions of people around the world live in rented apartments and condos, without feeling the need for ownership. It might not make sense to some people from a financial perspective. However, many people want to live in a specific area where they can’t make the purchase, for any number of reasons. Leasing is the same, it might not be an option for everyone, but if you want to drive a car that is not supported by your budget, yet you can meet the requirements of the lease, go for it.

3 Ways You Can Lower Your Auto Insurance Premiums Today!

3 Ways You Can Lower Your Auto Insurance Premiums Today! 6

It seems like insurance premiums are constantly on the rise – whether it be home, auto, health, or even life insurance.

With any luck, your parents taught you about money, and that finding ways to save money were always a good thing!

So, with these constant price increases and some good financial ‘sense’ instilled through childhood, you’re probably looking at ways in which you can save a few dollars.  Unfortunately, it can be hard to cut back on our insurance policies, especially the critical ones, such as health or home.

Luckily for you, there is one type of insurance where you can make a few cutbacks without putting yourself too much at risk – auto insurance.

There are actually a number of ways in which you can lower your auto insurance premium – and we have them outlined below, just for you!

The Best Ways to Lower Your Premium

For those of you looking to save a few dollars each month on your car insurance, take a look at some of these tips:

  • Bundle Your Insurance Policies

One of the best ways to save money, and not only on your auto insurance but on your other policies as well, is to bundle.

By bundling various policies – such as auto, home, and life insurance – with the same provider, you will typically receive discounted rates.

To find the best rates, shop around at various providers to see who offers the right policies for you and at the best bundle deal.

  • Increase Your Deductible

One of the first things you should consider if you want to lower your premium is to opt for a higher deductible.

The deductible is the amount of money you have to pay before your insurance provider covers the remaining cost. For example, if you have a $500 deductible, and your car has $1000 worth of damage, you will pay $500 and the insurance company will pay $500. If, however, you had a $1000 deductible, you would front the entire $1000 and your insurance wouldn’t cover any of the repairs.

Of course, this method will save you money month by month but may end up costing you a few hundred dollars extra if you were to get into an accident and require repairs.

  • Remove Unnecessary Coverage

You may be paying for coverage you don’t need – and what is more of a waste than that?

Perhaps you are paying to have additional drivers covered even though there are no longer any other drivers using the vehicle. Maybe you are paying a premium collision coverage fee for a vehicle that isn’t even worth enough to repair or replace in the event of an accident.

Take a good look at your policy and ensure that everything included is something you need – otherwise eliminate it! The less coverage you have, the less you will spend – and less coverage isn’t always a bad thing.

Start Saving Now

Everyone can benefit from saving a few dollars – so if you can make a few small changes in order to pay a lower auto insurance premium then why wouldn’t you?

It’s as easy as speaking to your insurance agent and finding a solution that works best for you!

Everything You Need to Know about Auto Leasing

new auto lease

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Leasing a car comes with many questions and concerns, and those new to the practice may find themselves just not wanting to deal with it. Many people don’t understand the auto leasing process or how it benefits many drivers, and will quickly dismiss the idea as a waste of money.

The truth is, the financial benefits of leasing a car can be enormous for many people. Equipped with the information to lease the right vehicle with the right options, and going to the dealer prepared can make a significant impact on your monthly expenses.

If you are interested in leasing your next vehicle but aren’t sure where to start, we’ve prepared this guide to walk you through everything you need to know about leasing a new car and help you get the best deal on your next lease.

Leasing vs. Buying

Before leasing a vehicle, it’s important to understand how leasing and getting a quote works, how payments are calculated, and ultimately whether it makes sense for you over buying.

Leasing is just a method of financing a vehicle. Many people incorrectly assume that leasing is equivalent to renting and that all the money you put into a lease will never be recovered.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. When leasing a car rather than buying, you are just paying for the portion of the car that you will use over a certain number of years and miles, rather than the entire value.

Let’s run some numbers to show how this process compares to purchasing a new car.

Purchasing a Car

Purchasing a car is a straightforward process compared to leasing. For simplicity’s sake, we will be ignoring sales taxes and dealership fees, and rounding amounts down to the nearest dollar.

Vincent has decided to purchase a car for $22,000 and has a trade-in valued at $4,500. He chooses to make no down payment and wants to finance the vehicle for 24 months.

The financing company offers Vincent an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 3%.

First, the trade in value is subtracted from the purchase price to get the principal amount.

22,000 – 4,500 = $17,500

Then, the principal amount is divided by the number of months in the loan.

17,500/24 = $729

Then the monthly interest is added. At 3% APR the amount of interest amounts to roughly $21 each month.

Now the monthly interest is added to the monthly payment.

729 + 21 = $750

When we multiply the monthly payment by the number of months in the loan we get a total of $18,000 paid for the car.

Leasing a Car

At the same time, Jules has decided to lease the car at the same purchase price, with the same value trade-in.

First, there is the net capitalized cost. Just like the principal amount in the previous example, this is calculated by subtracting the trade in value from the purchase price.

22,000 – 4,500 = $17,500

Then, we calculate what is called the residual value. The residual value is the expected value of the vehicle after the term of the lease is over, and is calculated by multiplying the sticker price of the car by the residual percentage.

The residual percentage is the estimated percentage of the vehicle’s value retained after the lease term, and is calculated using many factors such as mileage and market trends, and will be provided by the dealer. In this example, we are going to say that the car will depreciate to 60% of its purchase price over the term.

22,000 x .60 = $13,200

Now we calculate the depreciation fee by subtracting the residual value from the net capitalized cost and divide it by the number of payments. Put simply; the depreciation fee is the monthly payment before we add financing fees, sales tax, and additional fees.

17,500 – 13,200 / 24 = $179

Then the money factor is added, which is the financing fee for a car lease. We are going to use the same APR from the previous scenario of 3%.

We will find the monthly money factor by dividing the APR by 2400.

3/2400 =  0.00125

We can add the net capitalized cost to the residual value and multiply it by the money factor and get the total financing fees for each month of the lease term.

(17,500 + 13,200) x 0.00125 =$38

Finally, adding the depreciation fee to the money factor gives us our final monthly payment before adding fees and taxes.

179 + 38 = $217

Now we can look at where Vincent and Jules are after two years.

Jules has paid a total of $5,208 in transportation expenses.

Vincent has paid $18,000 in transportation expenses. However, Vincent now owns the vehicle. If we assume the residual value was accurate, Vincent’s car is now worth $13,200, making his expenses just $4,800 after the sale.

You might be thinking “But wait! Vincent spent less money than Jules by purchasing his car!”

While this is true, Jules’ situation has its advantages.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2116″ img_size=”full”][vc_single_image image=”2105″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]We can see that a lease is not throwing your money away, but an alternative form of financing that offers advantages and disadvantages compared to buying. Rather than purchasing the car outright and paying the whole value, you are only paying for the depreciation during the lease term.

Another thing to take away from Vincent and Jules is that the pros and cons of leasing are heavily dependent on lifestyle. Ask yourself the following questions:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2114″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The answers to these questions vary for each of us and are important to consider when deciding whether to lease or buy a car.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

How to Get the Most Out of Your Auto Lease

Now we know a little more about how to calculate lease payments and how it differs from the car buying process. Next, we can go over how you can influence the terms of your lease to fit your needs.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2101″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Down Payments

Whether to put any money down on a lease is one of the most frequent questions we hear about auto leasing. When buying a car, down payments are usually made to lower the purchase price, thus reducing the principal, which decreases the amount of interest paid over the life of the loan.

Additionally, car buyers will make a down payment to prevent going upside down and owing more than the vehicle is worth. In the event of theft or total loss, this lowers the out of pocket expenses of the buyer.

When leasing a vehicle, only the first situation applies. A down payment will be subtracted from the purchase price and as a result, lower the amount of interest paid over the lease term. However, leases are usually short-term, and the amount saved in interest payments is often insignificant. Calculate how much money you will save on interest or ask your dealer to show you what the payments would be when factoring in different down payment amounts.

Ultimately it is up to you to determine whether the amount saved on interest is worth the down payment amount.

When leasing a vehicle, the number of miles you can drive per year is limited by the terms of your agreement, and you will be subject to fees when you exceed that limit. If you’re thinking of driving the car for work such as if you work for a taxi service, it’s probably not the best idea if you want to stick to your miles on the agreement.

Mileage limits are one way you can affect how much value you get out of your lease. The more mileage the dealer expects you to put on the vehicle will contribute to its residual percentage.

It’s no secret that vehicles with more mileage on them are less valuable. Choosing mileage limits that are appropriate for your lifestyle will ensure that you don’t spend too much on your monthly payments or end up with additional fees after the lease ends. Closed-end lease agreements have mileage limits. The number of miles you can drive per year is limited by the terms of your agreement, and you will be subject to fees when you exceed that limit.

Long and Short-Term Leases

Dealers will usually offer leases in various lengths.

A short-term lease is usually 24 months or less, with a long-term lease being anything longer than 24 months. Most dealers have a minimum of 24-month lease terms, but shorter terms may be available through lease swapping. Short-term leases have some advantages over long-term leases.

A short-term lease can allow you take advantage of the manufacturer’s warranty throughout the entire lease term.

Making no down payment is less costly. In general, the longer a term of financing, the more you will pay in interest. Short term leases make the amount of interest significantly lower.

Long-term leases will usually result in a lower monthly payment, but are a longer commitment and will cost more overall due to financing fees.

Although you don’t own a leased car, you are still required to carry insurance for it. Coverage that is mandatory varies by state and the agreement you sign with the leaseholder.

Some leaseholders may require you to purchase additional coverage other than that which is required by state law. Before signing a lease, go over the agreement and calculate what additional insurance costs you might incur and factor it into your decision.

Purchase Options

In most cases, lessees will have the option to turn in their vehicle at the end of the lease or buy the car from the dealer. This gives leases another element of flexibility which can benefit many drivers.

Usually purchasing your vehicle is just a matter of paying the residual value to the leaseholder. Remember that residual value is not the same as market value. In some cases, the market value may be higher, making purchasing the car a great deal.

Additionally, an option to purchase the car at the end of the lease can help the Lessee avoid certain fees associated with returning the car, especially those connected to the condition or excess mileage on the vehicle.

Keep in mind; purchase options do come with a fee of their own in most cases. This fee is to prevent dealers from taking significant losses by selling vehicles for less than they are worth. When deciding whether to turn in a vehicle or take advantage of a purchase option; consider all applicable fees before making a final decision.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Featured Miami Lease Deal: The Nissan Rogue

Nissan Rogue Lease Specials Miami

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a part of our ongoing commitment to connect Miami drivers with the city’s best deals, we are going to talk about one of the market’s top contenders in its class. One that we think offers terrific value to drivers this season.

The Nissan Rogue is a compact SUV providing drivers an affordable entry into a practical yet delightfully upscaled vehicle. We are going to break down why the Rogue is one of our best deals this February, talk about whether a Nissan Rogue Lease is right for you and discuss how you can get the best deal on your brand-new 2018 Rogue. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Nissan Rogue Price

There’s no such thing as a good deal without a good price, right? With an MSRP of $25,775, the rogue boasts an incredibly approachable price for everything that it offers. With the cost of vehicles continuing to rise, finding high-quality transportation south of $30,000 has become increasingly difficult.

Thanks to the generous asking price and the rogue’s unique ability to retain value, we can offer it to our customers starting at just $195 a month. It’s an incredible deal for the thrifty driver who is unwilling to sacrifice a luxurious and comfortable cabin just to save a few bucks. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Specs & Tech

This compact may have an attractive price point, but what does it offer drivers behind the wheel?

The Rogue is powered by a 170 hp four-cylinder engine paired with front or all-wheel drive and a CVT transmission. It’s pretty standard for the class, and certainly isn’t going to draw in the asphalt thrill seekers.

What the powertrain does provide is a responsive yet docile handling profile with adequate acceleration for daily tasks. While it may not get the heart pumping on winding back-roads, it stands out as a reliable and comfortable drive that will suit many commuters.

One thing drivers will love is its fuel efficiency. With an estimated 26 city/33 highway fuel economy, lessees will save even more money at the pump. Compared to other class offerings, these estimates are outstanding.

This is where the Rogue shines. The 2018 model year brought with it a host of new standard safety features while maintaining the vehicles low price point.

The base model includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, emergency braking, and a rearview camera. Notably, few competitors have a comparable suite of safety technology on board, especially not at the price that Nissan is offering.

With the SL Trim, the ProPILOT Assist system makes its debut. The system gives the car the ability to accelerate, brake, and steer autonomously when certain highway conditions are met.

The 2018 model’s emphasis on technology reaches beyond safety systems. The newly added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto give drivers better smartphone integration, features usually reserved for higher-end trims and models. Nissan has also outfitted it with a new 7-inch touchscreen and two USB ports giving users more convenience and utility out of their tech.

Through the touchscreen interface, drivers have access to Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, and navigation. The addition of physical buttons to complement the system makes for a simple, user-friendly experience. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Comfort & Utility

Ask drivers of the Nissan Rogue what their favorite part of the vehicle is, and comfort is likely to come up.

The cabin is delightfully upscaled for its class, making expert use of high-quality materials throughout. Paired with the contemporary design, it stands out as a stylish and accommodating place to spend your daily drive. The seats are supportive and the front and rear quarters provide plenty of head and legroom for tall drivers and passengers.

The cabin is also well-insulated, providing a quiet and composed ride quality with little to no road noise at highway speeds.

Where utility is concerned, the enormous 39.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the rear seats is unmatched by any other comparable vehicle. Remove the back seats, and you have an astounding 70 cubic feet to work with.

The sheer amount of space itself is a compelling feature, but the inclusion of Nissan’s Divide-N-Hide cargo space cements the vehicle as a true innovator when it comes to cargo-hauling. The system includes two movable platforms that allow users to create shelves or cubbies to organize the space seamlessly. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2551″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Is a Nissan Rogue Lease Right for Me?

The Rogue is one of Nissan’s best sellers for a good reason. It’s the perfect fit for the driver looking for a high-tech, comfortable, and efficient daily driver that gives them the flexibility to haul people and cargo.

In a class as competitive as the compact SUV segment, automakers have to go to great lengths to outshine the competition. Nissan accomplishes this expertly by packing in value. While it’s not the most powerful option, the incredible amount of standard features and well-built interior make it an incredible deal for the asking price.

We think it’s currently one of the best lease deals in Miami due to its widespread appeal, excellent price point, and generous tech and safety features.

There are other competitors in the class that are worth looking at if you are looking for more power at the cost of higher payments or less standard features. Specifically, check out the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. Both have strengths and weaknesses compared to the Rogue, but might be better suited to your needs. Compared to 2017, the technology suite on the new CT6 feels delightfully high-tech.

Is Leasing a Car a Good Idea?

Is Leasing a Car a Good Idea? 7

When you decide that you need or want to look for the best new car deals, the most basic and rather important decision is to pick one from leasing vs. buying a car. However, before you actually make this decision it is only sensible that you first understand the terms and conditions that would come up front when leasing a car or buying it.

You may have someone around you who don’t think leasing a car is a good idea, they might even suggest you buy a used car instead. However, because you want to drive a new and you know that the lease payments are often lower than loan payments, and you are still unsure what to do.

Before you make your decision or precisely make the right decision, let’s learn more about how really leasing a car works.

How does a car lease work?

Usually, when you lease a car, you are required to pay a certain amount of down payment, but few auto leasing companies, such as Oz Leasing, allow you to lease the car you want with zero down payment and still pay less than loan payment. However, following your payment the pre-defined monthly lease payment for the duration of your contract, like 36 months. You also have to make sure you follow the terms and rules of your contract, for example, only you and the list of authorized drivers can drive your leased car. If you like you can always make changes to this authorized drivers’ list by contacting your agent.

However, in case of noncompliance of the contract, for example driving the car over the mutually agreed upon miles, will result in some additional fees or you will be asked to repair the damage. Moreover, you are also required to keep up with the regular maintenance of the car and at the end of the contract, you can choose between buying your leased car or lease another new car you like.

What are the advantages of leasing a car?

As mentioned earlier, your monthly car lease payments are lower than the monthly loan payments. If you are the kind of person who likes driving a new, latest car every few years, leasing is definitely a good and hassle-free idea. Moreover, the zero down payment option of leasing a new car for 3 years might just be perfect, as a new car wouldn’t give you any major maintenance or repair expenses. Whereas, you don’t have to worry about the resale value, or deciding what to do after 3 years of the lease.

How can one save money on a car?

If you plan on using the same car for a considerably long time and you also have the entire purchase price in cash, then buying your own car makes sense and it might also save you some money. In addition, you also have to consider that spending a relatively large amount of money on your car is a good idea for your finances, or if there is any better, more efficient way to spend this much money, such as invest.

On the other hand, if you are thinking about buying a used car, make sure you have done your research. Moreover, when you find a car you like, make sure to take it to a mechanic and have it checked by a professional who you trust and have the skills to accurately inspect the car.

However, if you don’t have enough money for the car price, but you still want to drive the latest, technological updated, new car than you better start looking for your auto leasing company, to get the best value for your money. You might also benefit more from an auto leasing company that offers zero down payment plan, allows you to create your personalize lease contract and facilitate by offering you to lease online via the Oz Leasing website or via phone call.

For all these reasons and possibly many more, an increasing number of people around the country are finding leasing their car a better option than buying a used car or buying a new car with cash or loan. If you want to lease your next car, make sure to do your research and find the best car lease deals in your city.

3 Ways You Can Lower Your Auto Insurance Premiums Today!

3 Ways You Can Lower Your Auto Insurance Premiums Today! 8

Why You Need To Lease a Jeep as Your New Vehicle

Lease a Jeep

Why You Need To Lease a Jeep as your next new vehicle.

An article about leasing a Jeep and finding the best lease deals in South Florida.

Today, more and more Americans are looking for auto leasing deals when they need to get a new vehicle to drive. The idea of changing their cars every few years and only having to pay for the time and portion of the cost, according to the use, is what charms most people about car leasing.

However, another thing Americans have been in love with for more than 75 years is Jeeps. The basics of Jeep Cherokee or Wrangler have stayed more or less same, even though the SUV has developed to be a luxurious model of a vehicle with a fast and great handling. On the other side, if Jeep did ever decide to change their core formula, it would mean taking the risk of destroying the cult appeal of the vehicle.

Jeeps now and then…

Over the decades the vehicles by Jeep have gone through a number of changes. However, the 1997 TJ series used front coil springs in place of leaf springs, for the very first time. This gave birth to the modern Jeeps, we have come to love, with big handling advantage in comparison to earlier models. In addition, the 2007 JK series extended 2 inches of basic wheelbase, and this gave the Jeep a 3.5 inches more track, a stiffer frame, and better shocks.

Without any doubt, the Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler are impressive machines, and today Jeep models with substantially longer wheelbase provide even better highway manners than the older generations. Here are four best auto lease deals that will make you get a Jeep as your next vehicle.

3 Ways To Improve The Performance of Your Truck

3 Ways To Improve The Performance of Your Truck 9

We spend a lot of money on our vehicles – and a lot of time driving them – so it only makes sense that we would seek ways to get the most “bang for our buck”, as some would say, in terms of performance.

This is especially true when it comes to you truck owners. Not only does your ride have to get you from point A to point B, but often times you are adding to the workload by towing toys, hauling loads, letting loose off-road, etc. You rely on your trucks to get you through your days – both for work and play – and you need to ensure that it can keep up.

There are a number of ways to improve the performance of your truck – it just depends on the type of truck you have, how you use it, what particular type of performance upgrade you are interested in, and most importantly, your budget.

Keep reading to learn more about some of the most popular performance upgrades and tricks that truck owners swear by – and how they can benefit your truck.

EGR & DFP Delete Kits

EGR & DFP Delete Kits are one of the most major performance upgrades you should consider for diesel engines.

An EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) delete kit help the performance of your truck by bypassing the EGR engine system, which can cause soot buildups in your engine. This will help your truck run cooler, increase its overall performance, and even increase the engine’s lifespan.

A DFP (diesel particulate filter) delete will, like the first option, enable your truck to bypass the factory-installed filter. The factory installed DFP captures exhaust to reduce emissions but ultimately clogged, which further reduces the power of your truck. By bypassing this filter altogether, you will notice increases in your trucks horsepower and torque.

Performance Intake Systems and Exhausts

Most people like their vehicles quiet and their rides smooth – this is why factory settings aim to restrict the intake and exhaust.

While this keeps the vehicle running quieter, it also reduces the overall efficiency of your vehicles motor, which – surprise, surprise – hinders its overall performance.

By upgrading to a performance intake system or performance exhaust (or both) you will not only revamp the overall performance of the truck but will also notice better fuel mileage as well.

Keeping Up With General Maintenance

Wait, what?

Yes, you heard right. Letting your vehicles general maintenance fall behind can have a real strain on its overall performance.

Details such as keeping optimal tire pressure, regularly changing transmission and differential fluid, using synthetic oil (and remembering to adjust viscosities for the seasons), and even just running premium fuel are some small ways to improve your truck’s performance without actually upgrading anything.

Have you tried any of the above? Can you recommend any other convenient, affordable, or just plain impressive ways to improve the performance of your truck?

Open vs. Closed-End Auto Leasing – What’s the Difference?

auto leasing

Understanding the Two Types of Auto Leasing Agreements

If you’ve been considering a quote on leasing and doing research into the practice, you may have seen the terms “open-end” and “closed-end.” These are the two main types of auto leasing agreements that a lessee will sign, and each has significant differences from the other.

Before signing your agreement, it is critical to understand the difference between these two terms. Auto leasing has seen growing popularity among consumers over the last few years, and it is vital that we stay educated on the practice to get the best lease deals.

The difference between these two types of agreements is much more straightforward than it seems on the surface.

We are going to examine the differences between open and closed-end auto leases and discuss who benefits from each type of leasing agreement.

Closed-End Leasing

A closed-end lease is what most consumers sign. Sometimes called a “walk away lease,” this agreement allows the consumer to return the vehicle or purchase it at the conclusion of the lease.

In this agreement, the lessee is not responsible for the car’s depreciation. In other words, if the vehicle’s value is less than the dealer estimated, that’s on them.

Most non-commercial consumers prefer this because it lessens their financial risk. No matter what happens in the used vehicle market, the terms of your lease and the amount you will pay at lease end have been laid out in the agreement.

But leasing the car without taking on the financial risk of vehicle ownership does come at some cost.

For dealers to lessen their own risk, they need to be able to predict what the car’s value will be at the end of the lease term with some accuracy. This prediction is called residual value.

To make an accurate prediction, certain factors that have a significant impact on the price of used vehicles need to be assumed. For example, mileage and overall condition. You can learn more about how lease payments are calculated here.

This is why leases have mileage limits and excessive wear and tear fees. If you were allowed to drive the vehicle as much as you wanted, the residual value would be near-impossible to predict. Lessors would lose a lot of money.

So instead, the dealer assumes the risk that the car will be worth less than the residual value. You can just return the vehicle and “walk away” should that happen. In return, you promise to take good care of the car and stay under your mileage limits or pay substantial fees.

If the car is worth more than the buyout price, you can still exercise the purchase option in your agreement and get a great deal.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2273″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Open-End Leasing

Unlike closed-end leases, in an open-ended lease the lessee is the one who assumes the financial risk of ownership. This means that if at the end of the lease term the vehicle’s market value is lower than the residual value, the lessee is responsible to pay the difference.

But who would want to risk owing thousands of dollars at the end of their lease? And why?

Remember that in a closed-end lease, the lessee is responsible for honoring certain conditions including mileage limits and keeping the vehicle in decent shape.

In an open-end lease, the buyer is allowed more freedom. By having the lessee assume the risk, the dealer can afford to offer them unlimited mileage limits and does not need to charge fees for excess wear and tear.

The extra depreciation resulting from these factors is the lessee’s responsibility. Therefore, the dealer doesn’t need to charge fees to offset the loss.

Open-end auto leasing is used primarily by commercial businesses.

Often times, the amount of mileage they will need to put on the vehicles to conduct their operations is very difficult to predict.

Additionally, some businesses may have their fleets operated by multiple drivers, making the final condition of the vehicle challenging to predict.

Rather than pay substantial fees in these situations, they instead take on the responsibility for paying the difference between the market and residual values.

If they choose to return the vehicle at the end of the term, and the agreement listed a residual value of $23,000, but the market value is only $17,000, they can either pay the dealer $23,000 and keep the vehicle or return it and pay the $6,000 difference.

Commercial customers are better positioned to incur these losses because they can be expensed, and companies have more flexibility with their expenses than your average consumer.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2270″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Which Type of Auto Lease is Right for Me?

If you are a regular consumer who is just looking to drive brand-new cars at low monthly costs, always go with a closed-end lease agreement. An average person electing to sign an open-ended lease is exceptionally rare.

As long as you put a typical amount of miles on your vehicle annually and are capable of taking good care of it, it’s practically a no-brainer. Be wary of any dealer attempting to convince you to sign an open-ended lease agreement.

If you are a representative or owner of a company looking to lease a vehicle or fleet, the decision is a bit more nuanced. Think about how you use your vehicle(s) and how often.

Does the nature of your operations put vehicles at risk for damage? Will they be operated by different drivers, or mostly by the same person? Is it easy to predict how many miles you will put on the car during the term? Do you have the flexibility to lease vehicles without knowing the full costs up front?

If the value of the car is lowered due to excessive mileage or damage, taking those losses will nearly always be less expensive than paying the associated fees in a closed-end agreement.

Before signing anything, know what kind of lease agreement is in front of you. It is always wise to read your lease agreement carefully, and whether it is open or closed will be stated clearly, usually at the very top of the contract.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Pros and Cons of Leasing: What Works Best for Your Budget?

Automobile Lease Deals

Are you a victim of leasing vs. buying a car phenomenon?

People of America are in the mood to spend, and they are leasing and buying new cars at an increasing rate. According to a study by an auto industry research company, the vehicles rolling on the U.S. highways, from cars, SUVs to trucks, have gone to a record of 11.4 years of an average age. This, more than anything else, has been a driving force for people to get themselves into a new vehicle. They are increasingly choosing auto leasing companies than the new wheels dealerships. In fact, leasing of vehicles now is accounting for over 25 percent of the total new vehicles purchases.

Leasing a car is appealing, it has many benefits and it is a more financially sound option for many of us. However, leasing is basically a rental contract and it might not be the right way for everyone. So, before you sign the contract for the new car you just fell in love with; make sure you understand what would be the possible pros and cons of leasing your new car.

Pro: Lease payments are cheaper than loan payments:

Take a min and compare the monthly payments you will have to pay with a typical lease and a typical loan. Anyone with basic money sense will see that they can get their choice of car for less money when leasing because usually, loan payments are more than the lease payments.

Moreover, if you have decided on a specific amount of money as your monthly budget for the car payment, you could actually drive a nicer and more expensive car when going for leasing option instead of financing the purchase with a car loan.

Pro: Drive a new car after every few years:

A typical leasing contact would be for 3 years. This means that you can drive a new set of wheels every 36 months that is well equipped with updated safety technology, comes with a warranty and may even get you some free scheduled maintenance.

You shouldn’t have to make any additions expenses, other than tire rotations, regular oil changes and the monthly payments. In addition, if you did lease a car that you don’t like very much, you can easily get rid of it without waiting for the right time and right deal to come along.

Pro: A Hassle-free end of the lease:

You walk into your auto leasing company and return the car as your lease ends. If you are meeting all the requirements and conditions in your contract, you simply walk away after handing over the keys. Which means that no hassle, negotiation and going back and forth trying to trade in a car or sell a car.

Pro: Additional financial incentives:

Another major advantage of leasing a car is that you are often not required to make any down payment or pay a very small amount. This allows you to take home a new car very easily and without getting too deep into your savings.

In addition to this, in most states, you only pay sales tax on your monthly payments instead of paying the tax on the entire purchase price. Moreover, if you are leasing the car for the basic purpose of conducting business, you can even claim a tax deduction over it.

Con: There is no ownership:

Leasing a car is similar to renting the car for the time of your contract. You don’t really own the car, which means you can’t make the modification or personalize the vehicle in a permanent way. When leasing a car, you must also maintain the condition of your vehicle.

Con: Penalties for wear and tear:

When leasing a car, you are given a brand-new vehicle to facilitate you and give you a quality experience. However, when you bring it back to your car lease broker, you should be mindful of financial penalties with may be associated with the poor condition and excess mileage.

Should you be leasing or buying?

Deciding between leasing a car and buying it largely depends on who you are, how you would treat the vehicle and what you value in the process. In many aspects leasing a car is appealing if you are looking for better service, experience, to pay slowly rather than at once, without any fuss.

Protect Your Car During Hurricane Irma

hurricane winds Florida

Hurricane Irma is fast approaching mainland Florida, and you should take every precaution to protect yourself and your property. In fact, the state has issued a mandatory evacuation order for all Broward residents east of Federal Highway. You should begin to immediately take steps to protect your home, like setting up shutters, bringing in outdoor furniture, and stocking up on water and instant meals. Even if you’re outside the evacuation zone, you may wish to relocate to a designated hurricane shelter before the weekend! Always protect life over property!

Featured Video: Protect Your Car during Hurricanes

Without a reliable source of transportation, you cannot get to work or school. Hurricane Irma will likely cause devastating floods as it tears down trees, roof tiles, and other debris. Fortunately, you can take very practical steps to protect your car and ensure your insurance policy covers any damages.

Here are 6 easy step you should take immediately:

Camera in Car

1: Take Pictures

Just as we’d recommend taking pictures right after an accident, you should take some now and in the aftermath of the hurricane. Photos can give you direct evidence to verify and expedite claims from an insurer for storm related damages. Capture shots of the interior and all angles of the exterior body. Be sure to safely and securely store these photos in a cloud or somewhere digitally so they cannot become destroyed by the hurricane themselves.

keypad door

2: Store Important Items Indoors

Many people make a habit of keeping important files stored away in their car’s console or glove box, for instance, your vehicle registration, insurance records, and important receipts. Remove these and safely bring them indoors, preferably in a lock box and in a sealed zip lock bag. You might want to also to laminate them or scan and upload digital copies. In case of flooding, you don’t want these documents destroyed or, worse, stolen! Make additional copies of your car keys and give them out to every licensed driver, since you may need to make a prompt evacuation or runs for supplies.

Night time outside Texaco gas

3: Fill Your Tank!

Everyone is already scrambling to fill their vehicles with lines crawling out into the streets! It may seem a hassle for you to find an open pump, but don’t procrastinate! You need a full tank of gas in the event of a state ordered evacuation. If Irma remains a strong category 5 on its current trajectory, it will significantly affect all of Florida! You don’t want to drive through flooded waters, and you should never drive through an active storm. Take steps now to ensure you can get as far away as needed!

Price gouging is illegal in the state of Florida! Report any outrageous gas and water sales to the state attorney general’s hotline: 1-866-966-7226

Public Garage Florida

4: Park Safely

During a severe weather event, never park your car under trees or power lines. Instead, park all your vehicles inside a covered garage. If you don’t have a garage at home, it’s possible local businesses, commercial malls, government buildings, houses of worship, and charities may open their parking garages to the public. However, public buildings will close their lots eventually, so begin exploring options and contact community members as soon as possible. Dade County offers the voluntary Miami Vehicle Protection program for residents to pre-register their cars in public parking before hurricanes. The higher up you can park your car, the better chances your vehicle has of avoiding damage.

Man Inspecting Car

5: Inspect Your Vehicle for Damage

After Hurricane Irma, your community will look very different. We could expect knee high flood waters, fallen trees everywhere, and wreckage scattered about the ground! Take your time to completely inspect and evaluate your car’s condition and performance ability. Document any amount of damage with clear photographs.

Truck Driving In Storm

6: Drive Safe After the Storm! Be Smart!

Don’t try to drive through flooded waters or over debris. Let me repeat: NEVER drive or walk through flooded areas as they may be much deeper than they appear and have downed power cables in them. Wait until city officials have cleared the roads and approved them safe for drivers. If you absolutely must drive, stick to major roadways that are not in flood zones.

Benefits of Leasing a 2018 Nissan Altima

nissan steering wheel with logo

Choosing a new car to drive is exciting. It’s even better when you’re leasing. When you’re leasing a car, you get to choose a brand new car that’s just right for you.  One of your best options? The 2018 Nissan Altima.

Not only is the 2018 Nissan Altima a beautiful car, but it also comes standard with plenty of premium features that make your driving experience unique.

2018 Nissan Altima

Let’s take a look at just some of the benefits of leasing the 2018 Nissan Altima:

The exterior of the 2018 Nissan Altima is beautiful. With its modern design shaped in the wind tunnels of Nissan, the 2018 Altima is impressive from the available LED headlights to its powerful body lines. Its finely tuned craftsmanship is sure to turn heads on the street.

What pushes the Altima’s design even further is its sleek, aerodynamic design. For example, the available Active Grille Shutters close automatically when you’re driving at highway speeds to decrease wind resistance and increase efficiency.

While the exterior of the 2018 Nissan Altima is indeed aesthetically pleasing, the comfort that the interior has to offer is what really convinces drivers that the Altima is the car for them.

Stepping into the car, you’re welcomed with the available luxurious leather-appointed seats. After sitting down, you’ll notice that Nissan designed everything in the Altima with the driver in mind. Everywhere in the car, you’ll see that Nissan put a focus style comfort, and high-quality materials to keep you and your passengers comfortable.

In addition to comfort, you’ll also have access to Nissan’s cutting edge technology. With the available NissanConnect technology, you have the choice between several plans and services. This includes everything from remote access on your smartphone to an automatic emergency phone call if it appears that your car has been in an accident.

From there, music lovers will be in heaven since they have the option to add the Bose Premium Audio System. This premium nine-speaker sound system fills your Altima with sound in a way that allows you to experience music in the way that it was meant to be experienced.

In the 2018 Altima, Nissan put their engineers to work to design a car that keeps you and your passengers as safe as possible at all times. Nissan collectively calls this technology the Nissan Safety Shield.

This all starts with the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System. This air bag system features six airbags to keep everyone in the car safe. There are dual-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags.

Some of the other prominent safety features are:

  • Rearview Camera: Parallel parking? Maneuvering in a tight space? Don’t worry. Nissan’s RearView Monitor helps you see how close or far away from objects to ensure that you don’t hit anything or run anything over.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert: Imagine that you’re backing out of a parking space and are having trouble seeing around the cars next to you. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert system detects and warns you about any incoming traffic that you might not see.
  • Blind Spot Warning: Sometimes, your mirrors just aren’t enough. If you turn on your turn signal and there’s a car in your blind spot, your vehicle will chime and warn you.
  • Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking: Both of these technologies work together to prevent you from being involved in an accident. Your car uses radar to monitor vehicle activity up to two cars in front of you, and it will provide you with a warning if it detects sudden deceleration. If you fail to respond, your car can hit the brakes for you.

No matter what the situation is, your 2018 Nissan Altima has you protected.

In addition to all of its amazing features, the 2018 Nissan Altima also outperforms several of its competitors.

With the 2018 Altima, drivers have two options for engines.

The first option is the surprisingly powerful 4-cylinder engine that produces 179 horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 39 mpg on the highway. The second option is the more powerful V6 engine that produces an impressive 270 horsepower while still getting an EPA-estimated 32 mpg on the highway. With both options, you get engines that were crafted by expert engineers.

As for the driving experience, there are few cars that are as smooth as the 2018 Altima. Imagine for just a moment that your car knew when you were cornering. With the Altima, that’s a reality. The Active Understeer Control system recognizes when you’re cornering and, if necessary, puts the brake on the appropriate wheel.

Featured Fort Lauderdale Lease Deal: The Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima Lease Specials

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As part of our ongoing to commitment to connect Ft Lauderdale’s drivers with the best lease deals we can find nationwide, we’ve dug through the catalog and selected one of the best deals in the midsize sedan segment.

With the popularity of crossovers in the current market, sometimes those who prefer the classic four-door sedan feel left behind. The good news is, Nissan’s latest Altima model aims to please this somewhat forgotten market. And it does so expertly. We are going to talk about the new 2018 Altima, whether a Nissan Altima lease is right for you, and break down why we think it’s a good lease deal in Ft Lauderdale. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Nissan Altima Lease Price

The cornerstone of a good deal is a reasonable price, and the Altima certainly doesn’t disappoint. With a competitive MSRP of just $24,145, we can offer it to our customers starting at only $250 a month. With the rising price of vehicles, drivers wanting to drive new cars with advanced tech and safety features are finding it harder to find high-quality offerings below $30,000, and the Altima fits this role perfectly.

It’s a fantastic companion for the commuter who values having a high-tech and comfortable car but doesn’t want to be punished for it on their payments or at the pump. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Specs & Tech

While the Altima’s price point is competitive, it’s not the most affordable in its class. What sets it apart as a great value this season comes from everything it offers to justify its cost.

Many reviewers have knocked the Altima for its lack of power, but we think it’s appropriate for what the vehicle is trying to accomplish. It’s a reliable daily driver with an efficient 2.5 Liter 4-cylinder engine giving drivers enough acceleration to handle typical daily driving tasks. If you are looking for a great deal on a sedan that can put some white on your knuckles, check out the 2018 Honda Accord or Toyota Camry.

If you love everything the Nissan offers and still want that power, the 3.5 SL trim is outfitted with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that provides a sportier drive.

What Altima drivers will love is the sedan’s improved handling profile that makes for a dynamic- if a little docile- drive. Thrifty commuters will enjoy its phenomenal fuel economy, estimated at 27 city/31 highway.

Just like the 2018 Nissan Rogue, the new Altima arrives with new standard safety tech. Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning now come onboard the standard model, and more advanced safety features are available on higher trim models.

It also boasts a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ endorsement from the IIHS for its crash test performance. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2592″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]

Nissan’s 2018 model comes with a suite of tech features to keep drivers connected. In the base model, you’ll enjoy a 5-inch center display, a 4-inch driver display, Siri Eyes Free, Bluetooth, a USB port and audio streaming.

These features paired with the contemporary cab design make for a driving experience that is delightfully high-tech. The infotainment system is user-friendly making distraction-free control over your tech seamless. On higher trim models additional features are available such as a 7-inch display, NissanConnect, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Comfort & Utility

If there’s one category where the Altima truly outshines the competition, it’s comfort.

It boasts some of the most comfortable seating outside of luxury vehicles and plenty of room in both the front and rear quarters. Tall drivers and passengers will have no problem remaining comfortable even on extended drives.

This is complemented by the smooth and accommodating ride quality, which does excellent work soaking up the rough pavement. Noise dampening technology also blocks out a significant amount of road noise, making for a smooth and relaxing experience on long trips.

The Altima also stands out as a very practical vehicle for the segment. The 15.4 cubic feet of trunk space is incredibly generous for the class, and the folding rear seats allow for even more storage when needed. Also, the use of intelligently placed containers throughout the cabin makes for convenient transport of small items. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2591″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Is a Nissan Altima Lease Right for Me?

Altogether, the Altima is perfect for the driver who is looking for a reliable commuter at a low monthly cost. It’s a versatile vehicle that offers fantastic fuel economy, capable performance, and notable tech and safety features at a low price.

Those factors alone make it one of our top picks for best lease deals on 2018 models. The incredibly comfortable seating from Nissan’s Zero Gravity cushions, ample cargo space, and excellent ride quality are a welcome bonus.

It expertly tackles anything the road throws at it, and while not an exciting car to drive, excels in every other category. Those looking for a commuter that is capable of delivering a thrilling weekend drive might consider other options in the class.

When we talk about getting great deals on leases, we are looking for well-rounded vehicles that offer certain kinds of drivers incredible value for their asking price. Digging through our vast inventory of 2018 models, the Altima emerges as a crowd pleaser with everything a Ft Lauderdale drivers needs at a competitive price. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

No longer the primary point of entry into the Mercedes-Benz family, the 2018 C-Class sedan finds itself just above the CLA-class and under the higher-end E and S-Class sedans. The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine powers this sporting luxury car to deliver 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

For those with a soft spot for the maneuverability of all-wheel drive, there is an option to upgrade to the C300 4Matic, priced at approximately $2000 higher than the standard variant.

Overall, the performance figures are not vastly different from the previous generation C-Class. You can expect to hit a 60-mph sprint in just about 5.9 seconds. While Mercedes refrains from publishing a top-speed for the C300, our guess is it peaks at somewhere around 155mph.

Safety Features

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan was awarded the NHTSA’s highest overall safety rating of five stars. The safety features have remained more or less the same in the newer trims too, possibly with a few minor tweaks here and there.

Your 2018 Mercedes C300 lease comes with 4-wheel ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, blind spot monitor, adaptive LED headlights, child safety locks, and integrated turn signal mirrors.

The front-impact airbags for the driver and passengers have been optimized to protect the head during even the worst cases of a frontal crash. The side impact airbags for the front seats are designed to offer protection to the torso during a side impact.

There are also overhead airbags to protect the occupants in the event of a sideway collision or rollover.

  • Other key safety features include:
  • Adjustable Pedals
  • Passenger Airbag On/Off Switch
  • Knee airbags
  • Rollover Protection System
  • Front Tow Hooks
  • Rear Tow Hooks
  • Traction Control
  • Emergency Trunk Release

All advanced safety features are appropriately sensitive and should not trigger false alarms.

Beautiful Design

The interior of the 2018 Mercedes C300 comes loaded with many enhancements, including a lot more legroom for rear seat passengers. The slightly revamped design looks impressive with a graceful center stack and a minimalistic layout approach afforded by carefully calibrated buttons. Beware though, the interface looks slightly complicated and might take some time getting familiar with the interface!

The buttons are limited only to serving essential functions. This is important considering that the ultimate goal was to give the cockpit a simple and elegant layout.

As for the exterior, things haven’t changed much since the previous iteration of the C300. The 2018 model rocks a facelifted bumper, and the corner vents have grown marginally. Other noticeable changes include a slightly revamped grille featuring new mesh and louvers.

Comfort and Entertainment Features

The standard front seats of the 2018 C300 offer adequate adjustment settings to ensure that drivers of all sizes can easily find their optimal seating. The padding, while firm, manages to offer a smooth experience – thanks to the well-contoured surfaces! Lateral support is pretty decent too.

Once set, the automatic climate control feature is “smart” enough to adapt on its own without requiring manual adjustments. The noise and vibration controls seem much better than the previous generation C300 at ensuring a quiet and peaceful ride.

Like most GM models, the infotainment display in the new C300 is carved into the center stack. The button controls below are backlit and flaunt a chrome trim. The native infotainment system comes equipped with all the features we generally expect from a car in the C300’s price range. However, it might take some time before you can get yourself familiar with the interface and the trace pad.

The voice-enabled features seem accurate enough to ensure a smooth experience.

Cargo space

The new C300 offers more than enough room for all your carry-on luggage. Slightly bigger items might require a bit of jostling, but that’s not a problem unique to this car only. While it doesn’t offer too many bins and pockets, the ones you have are generously sized for keeping your personal items.

How To Get The Best Auto Lease Using These 5 Insider Tips

super lease deals

Do you ever dream about driving a fancy sports car, even way out of your price range? You probably do if you’re like anyone else. Thankfully, you don’t have to go into huge debt shelling out the full price or taking a high-interest loan. There are better alternatives to make your dreams a reality and get the best lease deal today.

If you’re not ready to buy your dream car just yet, you have two options to choose from – renting and leasing.

You only rent for a very short period. For example, you could rent a car for a week to go on a cross-country business trip or a romantic getaway. Renting is a viable solution only if you don’t need a car for everyday use.

Leasing is the more long-term solution between the two and is preferred by most people. A lease agreement hands over the vehicle to you for an extended period at an affordable price (typically for 12 months or more). The low monthly cost of leasing lets you drive even high-end luxury cars without having to shell out large sums of money.

Overall, there are many advantages of leasing a car that you will grow familiar with by the time you finish reading this article.

As the number one car leasing company in the United States, Oz Leasing aims to take things up a notch by letting you assume control over the whole process, including payment terms. But more on that later! Let’s first get you familiar with some of the important aspects that you must know to secure that you get the best lease deal available in the market. Here are 5 factors that play into getting the most of your lease deal:

5 Tips to get best lease deal

1 – Understand Your Monthly Lease Payment

By knowing what specific charges your monthly lease payments will cover, you will be in a better position to plan your budget without having to worry about unwarranted or avoidable costs. It’s important to choose a lease dealer that is transparent with all charges and doesn’t hide fee in the fine print!

A lot of factors are taken into account to calculate the monthly lease amount for a car. These include:

  • Capitalized Cost: The negotiated selling price of your car is called the capitalized cost, sometimes referred to as the “cap cost”. The lower the cap cost of a leased vehicle, the lower the monthly lease fee.
  • Capitalized Cost Reduction: Capital cost reduction is anything that reduces the cap cost. It could be a down payment, rebate, or trade-in-allowance. The higher the cap cost reduction, the lower the monthly payments.
  • Residual Value: The value of your car when the lease agreement ends.
  • Depreciation: The amount you will need to pay for the expected decline in value of your car during the duration of your lease. This doesn’t include any cost that you may have to incur for repair etc.
  • Rend Charge: A fixed amount that’s charged on a monthly basis in addition to the depreciation value of the car.
  • Sales Tax: It’s the amount you’ll be paying in sales tax each month. Some states collect taxes on lease vehicles at the beginning of the lease term, while others collect it incrementally during each month. If you plan on moving states, check with your dealer to verify how the new tax laws would apply to your lease.
  • Mileage Charge: All lease agreements have a pre-specified number of miles you can drive each year. You will be charged extra if you exceed that limit.
  • Liability and Insurance: You are required to carry a specific limit of liability insurance for leasing a car. Apart from that, the lessor is also legally obliged to pay for repairs and maintenance when the car is under their care.
  • Other Taxes: These include registration fees, license fees, and additional state government taxes for owning and/or operating a vehicle.
  • Termination Fee: If you want to terminate a lease agreement ahead of time, your dealer may charge an extra fee known as the “termination fee”.

2 – Selecting the Vehicle

After you understand all the factors that affect pricing, the next step is narrow your selection to the car that best suits your needs. You should consider the vehicle’s fuel economy in relation to the miles you typically drive in a month.

Do you prefer a convertible? A sedan? An SUV? Be clear in your mind what type of car you want to lease. You might be set on a super luxury Mercedes but still carefully compare your top 5 vehicles. You should factor in safety, performance, cargo, and other features. List out all comparable features of any vehicle and rank them as most important to you and your needs.

Choose wisely as you could always save some money by picking a car that promises a higher fuel economy and dependability, as well as low insurance premiums.

And more importantly, choose a car that holds its value over time, or what we call “residual”. Allow us to illustrate this concept:

3 – Residual Value

When you purchase a car, you pay 100% of its price all at once – typically by taking out an auto loan. On the other hand, by leasing a car, you are only paying for the car’s value during the lease period. For example, if your lease lasts for two years, you’ll pay for two years of the car’s value.

However, don’t forget that you are driving the car for the first two years of its life – when it’s brand new and has a higher valuation than, say, in its fourth or fifth year. As the car ages, its market price reduces, commonly known as depreciation. The dealers will charge you a fee against the expected decline in value of the car during the lease period (known as “depreciation fee”).

And here comes the important part: Not all cars depreciate equally. Some cars hold their value for longer than others, i.e., they depreciate less. A car that depreciates less is said to have a high “residual value.” This means that the residual (or the amount of estimated market value) is still high. Ideally, your priority should be to lease a car with a greater residual value compared to its counterparts.

Let’s illustrate that with an example:

Say an uninformed shopper, Molly, leases a $40,000 car with a weak residual value. She leases the car for three years during which it loses 50% of its value. Therefore, she will need to pay the depreciation amount ($40,000 ÷ .50 = $20,000), divided into 36 monthly payments of ~$555 a month for 3 years (plus the regular fees).

You, meanwhile, having learned from Molly’s mistake, did your research and picked a car that also sells for $40,000, but has a much stronger residual value. It loses only 25% of its value over the 36-month-long lease period. Therefore, you’d only pay a depreciation fee of about $10,000 (25% of $40,000) divided into 36 monthly payments of ~$278 a month (plus the regular fees).

Clearly then, it pays to research the particular vehicle’s residual value before committing to a lease.

Now that we’ve got the selection of the car out of the way, let’s focus on mileage options:

4 – Picking the Right Mileage Plan

This is a relatively more straightforward call to make. Most car leasing companies offer their customers multiple mileage options to choose. At Oz Leasing, we offer four options for most of our cars: 7,500 miles; 10,000 miles; 12,000 miles; 15,000 miles. Pick whichever you may prefer.

You don’t have to worry about exceeding your mileage quota. Anytime you feel that you are likely to exhaust your annual mileage quote before the lease period ends, you just have to give us a call and we will add additional miles to your contract at a discounted price. Simple as that!

You won’t get reimbursed for not using all your miles. You get what you pay for in the end, so you should make the most out of them. You should calculate about how many miles you drive a month and multiply it by twelve to get a rough idea of which plan you need. If you only live ten minutes from work and you don’t travel outside of town, you should probably stick with the lowest mileage plan.

5 – Talk Prices First – Negotiate!

If there’s one thing car dealers know, it’s the art of negotiation. But a negotiation is ultimately unavoidable if you are leasing your car from a traditional car dealer.

With Oz Leasing, however, you DO NOT have to worry about pesky negotiations at all! But let’s quickly address the basics of negotiating with a more traditional car dealership if you chose to take that route:

Once you are ready to return to a dealership to close a deal, don’t tell them upfront that you plan to lease the car. Keep that as your little secret until you are done negotiating a purchase price. This is important because your monthly lease payment will be based on the final agreed-upon price.

We recommend that you sharpen your negotiation skills and make an initial offer just above the rock-bottom cost to the dealership. You can use the Consumer Reports website to find out how much dealers themselves pay for a new car (you may have to pay a one-time fee of $14 to access that information). Your monthly payment will be based on the amount you and the salesperson settle on. It will fall somewhere between the wholesale price of that car and the manufacturer-suggested retail price.

Should You Buy Your Leased Car?

purchasing a leased car at the end of the lease

Understanding Lease Purchase Options

One of the most attractive parts of auto leasing is the flexibility. You can buy your leased car at the end of the term or swap it out for a brand-new vehicle. If you are approaching the end of your lease term, you might be wondering whether using your purchase option is the right choice for you.

It’s imperative that you go to the dealer armed with all the necessary information to ensure that you get the best deal possible. In this article, we are going to walk through a lease purchase option, and discuss who should consider purchasing their lease, and why.

buy your leased car

How Does a Lease Purchase Option Work?

A lease purchase option, sometimes called a lease buyout, is an option in your lease agreement that gives you the right to purchase the car after the lease term has expired. The price of the car and all applicable fees, should you choose to buy it, is already outlined in the agreement.

This price is based on the vehicle’s residual value, which is the dealer’s estimate of the car’s value after the conclusion of the lease term. When you lease a car, you are just paying for the amount the car depreciates over the period that you are driving it. Assuming the estimates are accurate, the residual value will merely be the remaining value that you didn’t already pay.

But here’s the kicker; The market is unpredictable and always fluctuating, putting some lessees in a very advantageous position when it comes to buying the car. For others, it might not be such a great deal. Understanding the difference is critical to making the best decision.

Your leaseholder will usually contact you within 30-60 days of your lease expiration to discuss your options for returning the vehicle or using the purchase option. Before committing to anything, carefully review your options.

Purchase Option Fees

In most cases using your option to purchase the vehicle will have a purchase option fee, averaging about $300-$600. While it is important to factor this expense into your analysis, keep in mind that returning the vehicle carries many fees of its own, such as disposition fees and excess mileage fees.

Often, the fees incurred by returning the vehicle far exceed the purchase option fee. Luckily, you have all the information you need at your disposal to make an informed decision. Your lease agreement outlines all applicable fees.

Even if we assume that the car is in perfect shape, and under its mileage limit, the disposition fee, which covers the cost of preparing the vehicle for resale, will often be pretty close to the purchase option fee, making the difference negligible.

Reasons to Buy Your Leased Car

For some lessees, buying their leased car at the end of their lease agreement is the best financial option. Let’s discuss a few reasons you might buy your leased car.

The Price is Lower Than Market Value

As we touched on before, the price of the purchase option is agreed upon in the initial lease agreement and is based on the vehicle’s residual value. Because this amount is an estimate, it doesn’t always turn out to be accurate.

There is no shortage of tools online to help you get an accurate estimate of your car’s current market value. Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and Cars.com are just a few well-known examples. By using multiple tools and being honest about the condition of your car, you should be able to get a pretty accurate estimate of what your vehicle is currently worth.

Compare the current market value to the purchase price outlined in your agreement, plus the purchase option fee. If the purchase amount is less than the actual market value, buying the car is a good deal.

You are Way Over Your Mileage Limits

Lease agreements allow drivers a certain number of miles over the lease term and often carry steep penalties for exceeding them.

If you are approaching the end of your lease term and are above your limit by more than a few thousand miles, consider purchasing the vehicle. When you buy the car, the dealer will not charge for excess mileage.

On the other hand, being way under your mileage limits is also a compelling reason to purchase the car. When dealers estimate a car’s residual value, it is under the assumption that you will drive your allotted mileage. If the vehicle is under its limit by thousands of miles, the market value could be significantly higher than the purchase price. If this is the case, returning the car amounts to losing a lot of the value that you already paid for. Learn more about the leasing process and mileage limits here, “Everything You Need to Know about Auto Leasing.”

Your Car is in Bad Shape

When you return a vehicle to your leaseholder, they will charge fees for any damage to the vehicle that is above normal wear and tear. For more information about what constitutes normal wear and tear, see your lease agreement.

If your car has significant damage in the form of dents, scratches, broken electronics, or interior damage, you will want to factor these fees into your decision. In many cases, it may make more financial sense to buyout the lease than pay these penalties. Before making a final decision, also consider the cost of making these repairs yourself. It may save you more money than either paying the fees or buying the vehicle.

You Love Your Car

For some, the leasing lifestyle just isn’t for them. While driving brand new cars every few years may have sounded great at first, sometimes the bond between mankind and machine is just too great to let go. You know your car inside and out, and you love every feature and every flaw.

Your car has seen you through good times and bad, always being by your side for companionship on the road. The very thought of losing it brings a tear to your eye.

If it’s at least a fair deal, there’s nothing wrong with buying the car simply because you love driving it. Can you really put a price on love?

5 Tips for Staying Safe on Your Motorcycle This Summer

5 Tips for Staying Safe on Your Motorcycle This Summer 10

You’ve been waiting months: the suns finally out, the roads are finally clear, and your bike is all shined up and ready to go.

Of course you want to enjoy your long awaited two-wheeled freedom, but it’s important to do so in a smart and responsible way, as you’ve probably heard millions of times before.

To refresh your memory (and keep you in one piece), we want to share with you these 5 tips for staying safe on your motorcycle this summer.

1. Wear A Helmet

Rule number 1 – we’ve heard it over and over since we were children on our tricycles – always wears a helmet.

Statistics show that riders without a helmet are 40% more likely to suffer fatal head injuries in a crash, and 3x more likely to suffer brain injuries.

To provide yourself even more protection, consider wearing a full-faced helmet, which also shelter you from wind, buffer against the street noise, and protect your eyes from insects, etc.

Modern helmets are strong, lightweight, and quite comfortable, meaning you should have no reason to object – not to mention the laws in place making them mandatory.

5 Tips for Staying Safe on Your Motorcycle This Summer 11

2. Dress Appropriately

In addition to wearing a helmet, you should also protect yourself by wearing appropriate gear and clothing. Sure, wearing shorts and a t-shirt may be tempting on a hot summers day, but a little bit of extra comfort now is not worth the pain and discomfort caused by road rash that will last weeks.

The typically recommended outfit to protect yourself while biking includes a leather jacket and pants, leather gloves, and even over-the-ankle boots. For those hot days where leather seems unbearable, there are options available made from breathable, lightweight materials that offer the same protection that leather does.

3. Drive Defensively

Majority of the accidents that occur involving motorcycles are not at the fault of the cyclist, but at the fault of a motor vehicle. For this reason, you, as a motorcyclist, should be inclined to be extra cautious of your surroundings.

Pay attention to the vehicles and drivers around you and potential obstructions that may lead other drivers to lane change, stop suddenly, etc.

4. Avoid Bad Weather

This follows the previous statement regarding driving defensively. If you know the weather is expected to be bad, or it is already, try to avoid riding.

Wet roads decrease your bikes traction, strong winds can make handling difficult, and fog or rain can decrease visibility.

Any type of adverse weather will bring with it extra hazards that you need to take into consideration. If you must ride during such weather conditions, ensure that you take extra precautions and drive appropriately to the conditions present.

5. Get Insured

Make sure your motorcycle is insured. It’s no different than having to insure your car or truck – insurance is meant to protect you and those around you in a number of situations. Saving the few dollars a month that insurance will cost you is not worth the potential risk you leave yourself open without it.

Ready, Set, Go!

Take these tips to heart – they are meant to help you enjoy your summer on the road while keeping yourself safe at the same time. One small decision can make all of the difference.

Best Car to Buy

Best Car to Buy

Car shopping is not an easy job and certainly nowhere was as simple as regular shopping. You can’t get a strapless car that has attachable sleeves and it can’t be treated as an accessory. A car is your forever partner and not to mention, a heavy purchase. So whatever choices you make while buying a car seriously affect your life immediately after you bring it home. That’s why there are people who get paid to help you choose a car. Some buyers spend months looking at options and picking out the best fit for them. A car is really just something you need to buy according to your personality and comfort level.

The best BMW car deal or Ford deals should not determine what you buy because cars should never be treated like regular sale items that you find for 1$ at a clearance sale at Forever 21. Look for options that suit your financial standing first of all. Can you afford to buy a car? Or would you rather lease it? Whatever you choose, make sure you educate yourself properly on the process first. If you choose to lease, it is advised that you hire a consultant who will help you determine what kind of car you need.

The kind of life you live is also a huge question that lets you know your choice of cars if you answer it. Are you someone who goes to the office often? Do you want a regular sedan? BMW is a good choice. Look up your nearest BMW car deals and consult the seller as soon as possible. Now, do you think you should add a little sporty touch to your sedan? Do you want a car like that but at a lesser price? Try searching Ford deals around you and let someone hook you up. Compare and contrast both these examples to know which one’s the best for you. This is just an example. You can do this with many other brands. It really just depends on your style and choice.

Now, if you’re going for lease, Hyundai and Nissan deal lease are the best options for you. Hyundai lease is one of the most popular and widely suggested lease options. The cars are commercial and perfect for families. If you’re someone who has to drive kids or family around, Hyundai is a very affordable and quality brand that gives you ownership over a great car in less! The same can be said for Nissan. They have a wide range of SUVs and Sedans so you have plenty of options to choose from. These cars also come with different functions so be smart when you pick! It’s easier to find a car than you think. Google can be your best friend in this matter. Just search, for example, Nissan deal lease or Hyundai lease and it will list all the awesome lease deals around you! But first, you must google the kind of car you need. The brand’s own website can be a huge help. The important point is, research is crucial.

Benefits of Leasing a 2017 Lexus IS 200t

Leasing the Lexus IS 200t

Looking for a powerful luxury car but don’t have the wallet size? Your best bet is probably the newest Lexus IS! The IS (or Intelligent Sports) series provides a solid balance of performance, comfort, and convenience. With its debut in 1999, the IS series is now in its third generation. The “t” in IS 200t designates “turbo” and highlights the powerful 8-speed 2-L engine. While you might start with the base IS 200t, but you could also opt for the upgraded IS 300 and 350. Lexus also offers F-Sports editions that pack more engine power and a stylish appeal. The IS 200t only has one trim, the sedan.

Why Should You Lease a 2017 Lexus IS 200t?

Leasing a car means you pay monthly for a set number of miles on the vehicles. At the end of the contract, you don’t own the vehicle, but usually, you can choose to buy it. Many people decide to lease a car when they need a quick ride yet cannot afford the full price of purchasing it. Depending on your situation, you might want to lease the Lexus IS 200t to thoroughly test the features before committing to buying it from the dealer.

You should be aware that there are some drawbacks to leasing. For example, plans usually have a strict policy on mileage limits, authorized drivers, and vehicle upkeep. Since you don’t own the vehicle, you don’t have as much freedom to customize or upgrade it.

Now let’s dissect the benefits of the Lexus IS 200t:

The IS class is a luxury sports compact series, meaning it offers a blend of comfort and performance capabilities. It doesn’t excel at either, but, instead, offers the best of both worlds at a more than affordable price.

That being said, critics agree: the interior features are the most stunning aspect of the IS200t. A pleasant change for 2017 comes with the larger 10.3-inch entertainment and navigation screen with Lexus’ signature remote touch interface (RTI). This control system is similar to a joystick and may seem oversensitive and clunky. With some practice, you’ll get used to it! Otherwise, most of the apps from Enform Suite program use Bluetooth voice recognition software. You can quickly switch radio stations, respond to text messages, and even buy movie tickets just using designated voice commands in the cabin! The Navigation Package includes both features for an extra $1,735.

Another key feature is the Lexus Enform Remote app connectivity, allowing you to control doors windows, and even engine from the convenience of your smartphone. Lexus offers a 1-year complimentary service for this program.

2017 IS models are all heavier and provide less interior space than competitors, but the F Sports does enhance the seating and overall aesthetics. As a standard, the F Sports design offers both heating and ventilated seats with a synthetic leather NuLuxe material. Lexus generously provides a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar and 8-way adjustable passenger seats. Standard on the F Sports is also their state-of-the-art climate control system, allowing for individualized airflow throughout the cabin. You can also choose to upgrade to a heated steering wheel for those cold winter drives!

With the Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System Package, you can upgrade the standard 10-speakers to a 15-speaker system to blast all your tunes in the best quality possible! Although, it comes at a steep price of $2,835.

In all, the IS 200t gives you a quiet ride with many advanced comfort amenities.

For a luxury car, you’re fortunate to get a powerful 4-inline engine. The base IS 200t comes with a 2-liter, while the others include V6 3 and 3.5-liters. For its size, the 200t still packs a punch and is capable of flying from 0-60 in 6.8 seconds (6.5 in the F Sports) with 241 horsepower. It has a combined 26 highway/city mpg. Although the 200t features rear wheel drive, the 350t includes standard all-wheel drive capabilities. It brakes from 60 mph in about 117 feet, slightly below average among competitors. However, the automatic 8-speed transmission allows for great versatility in your driving experience!

Admittedly, the F Sports edition is mostly a cosmetic upgrade and doesn’t significantly increase general performance. Still, it does include standard three dynamic driving modes: Sport, ECO, and normal.

Lexus has spared no expense in ensuring driver safety with the IS 200t with its impressive 10 airbag system as standard.

Included in the standard model are LED headlights (and taillights on the F Sports) for optimal vision. The vehicle features collision warning systems, lane departure warning, and emergency crash notifications. Also included with the remote app controls are anti-theft features, such as GPS tracking and police notifications.

The Premium Package includes a rearview camera display with dynamic gridlines.

The Luxury Package allows for electrochromic mirrors, meaning they will automatically dim to reduce glare from the bright lights behind you. Also included is an innovative parking assist program that uses audible and visual alerts to guide you in parallel parking. With this addition, you can also drive with confidence with blind spot monitoring and cross lane assist alerts.

Oz Leasing’s sole aim is to serve those for whom leasing is strategically a better choice between the two.

So buying or leasing – which is a better choice for you?

Well, to know for sure, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you want to drive high-end luxury cars without having to deal with the hassles of ownership?
  • Do you want to keep up with latest models without having to shell out tens of thousands of dollars every few months?

If you answered yes to both these questions, leasing might make better sense to you.

Leasing your dream car from Oz Leasing can be beneficial on several fronts. For one, you don’t have to worry about hefty down payments. (In fact, you don’t need to pay any down payment at all.) On top of that, we also let you pick your preferred monthly payment options.

But our flexibility doesn’t end there. You see, at Oz Leasing, we understand that all our customers have different requirements as they have different taste in cars. With that in mind, initially we offer four mileage options to choose from: 7,500 miles; 10,000 miles; 12,000 miles; 15,000 miles. However, you can purchase additional miles at a discounted price anytime you want. If you feel that you might exhaust your annual mileage quota ahead of time, just give your lease agent a call and we will sort that out for you in no time.

But what if you fall in love with your leased vehicle and want to purchase it outright? That’s a possibility too, right?

Well, no worries. You will always have the option to purchase the leased car at the end of your lease agreement at a reasonable price. Alternatively, you could also choose to turn it in and upgrade to a newer model of the same car or a different car altogether.

Now that we have covered the basics of leasing a car from America’s most trusted car leasing platform (yes, that would be us!), let’s move on to our top 5 car lease deals for the month of November:

Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (241 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque), the car reaches zero to 60 mph in just about 6.8 seconds. Sure, that’s not the fastest for a car in its league, but the IS 200t’s engine feels incredibly smooth and quiet on bustling highways. The steering feels natural and direct every time you turn the wheel. Not just that, it also gives you an excellent road feel, which is crucial if the tires were ever to lose grip.

Even the harshest critic of the IS 200t has to acknowledge the fact that Lexus has done a commendable job with the car’s interior. From the larger and ultra-responsive 10.3-inch entertainment/navigation screen to the 10-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar and 8-way adjustable passenger seats, this is perhaps the best interior in any Lexus model.

Leasing vs. Buying a Car: What’s Right for You?

leasing vs buying

Leasing vs. buying a car

leasing benefits

Your vehicle is one of the most important things that you use on a daily basis. Whether it’s driving to work, picking up kids, or meeting up with friends, your car is usually what gets you there.

Unfortunately, cars also cost money.

However, paying cash or taking out a loan aren’t the only options that you have these days. While cars at one point were leased primarily by corporate customers and luxury automobile enthusiasts in the past, nearly everyone can lease a car now at prices that make buying a car almost look puzzling.

So, let’s take a closer look at leasing vs. buying a car to help you determine which option is right for you.

The Pros of Leasing a Car

Many people aren’t sure why they would lease, over buying a car. It could be due to dealerships pushing the sale of cars – since that’s where they make the most money. There are many benefits to leasing a car, and here are just a few:

  • You usually pay much less in monthly payments (often with no down payment).
  • You’re able to drive a nicer car than you would if you were buying the car.
  • Since you’re under the car’s factory warranty, you pay less money in maintenance fees. It’s also easier to get your car fixed since you’ll have designated shops to which you can take your vehicle.
  • You’re able to drive a different car every two or three years, depending on your lease arrangement.
  • You spend less money on sales tax than if you were to purchase a car.
  • It’s an easy process to transition from one leased car to another.

Although there are many benefits of leasing a car, there are drawbacks – depending on your lifestyle.

The Cons of Leasing a Car

Unfortunately, leasing a car isn’t always as straightforward as some people make it seem. Some of the cons of leasing a car that you mind find are:

  • You do not own any of the car at the end of your lease agreement.
  • Although you may purchase the car at the end of your lease agreement, The amount that you can drive during your lease is limited. A typical lease agreement limits your driving to around 12,000 miles per year with the option of purchasing more. That could mean fewer road trips.
  • Lease agreements can be complicated for the average person to understand for the first-time leaser.
  • In some cases, leasing a car can end up being a bit more expensive than purchasing a car since you’re continuously making payments.
  • You can’t make a mess of your vehicle. Depending on the condition in which you leave your car, you could be responsible for extra fees.
  • If you decide that you need to terminate your lease agreement early, it’s going to cost you a decent chunk of money.

If you’re still unsure about whether leasing a car is right for you, it helps to look at what purchasing a car can do for you.

The Pros of Purchasing a Car

While it may seem a bit expensive or out of reach for some people, purchasing a car doesn’t have to be a burden. If you do decide to buy your vehicle, you’ll find that these are some of the primary benefits:

  • When you own your car, you can modify and change it as you please. You can add speakers, paint your car, and make other upgrades that you can’t make in some cases when leasing a vehicle – or will cost you more money than usual to make those changes.
  • If you own your car, nobody can restrict the amount of miles that you drive. You’re free to drive coast to coast as many times as you like.
  • If you change your mind about your car, it’s no problem. You can sell it whenever you want – but hopefully you’ve paid it off first. Otherwise, this is no longer a pro of purchasing.
  • If you decide to purchase a different car, you can always use your current car as a trade-in.

However, before setting off to buy your car, there are some drawbacks to purchasing as well.

The Cons of Purchasing a Car

Although the allure of buying a car can be quite strong, knowing the full story can save you a lot of money and headache in the long run. Some of the more common cons of purchasing a car are:

  • When you lease a car, you’re paying the company the amount of value the car is going to lose over your lease term. In the end, it doesn’t matter to you if the car isn’t worth what the company thought it was going to be. When you buy, you can end up owing more on your loan than the car is worth.
  • Your monthly car payment is likely going to be higher than a monthly lease payment.
  • After your warranty expires (if you even have one), you’re responsible for paying all maintenance costs.
  • You have more of your money tied up in your vehicle if you purchase it.
  • Loan terms can stretch out for up to eight years, which can start to feel more like mortgage payments than car payments. With those long loan terms, interest has more time to build up (interest rates are also higher due to the riskier nature of long-term loans).
  • When you decide to get a new car, you’re responsible for listing it and selling it or dealing with the trade-in.

When trying to determine whether leasing or buying a car is right for you, there’s not one answer that works for every situation. Potential buyers need to thoroughly examine both the pros and cons of leasing and buying a car to determine what options best suits their circumstances.

The most important thing is to take an honest look at your budget, your lifestyle, your credit history, and your needs before making a choice.

There are a lot of great resources on the internet to help you find the best deals on cars, calculate your loan costs over the entire term, and form a budget to make sure that you get the best possible option without breaking the bank.

5 Benefits to Take Advantage of on Your First Auto Lease

first auto lease

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you’re in the market for a brand new luxury car, you are probably thinking mostly about the make, model, color, and pricing. But once you’re through with those decisions, the next big thing you want to focus on is if you wish get your first auto lease or buy it with financing. Are there advantages of auto leasing over buying? Get a Quote!

Some people think buying makes more sense as it gives them outright ownership of the car. That’s not necessarily always true. There is a huge cost to ownership – just think about the hefty down payment, high-interest rate, higher insurance cost, and all the other hassles you have to deal with when you buy a new car.

The cost of ownership is particularly high if you’re purchasing a luxury car, which is why most people prefer leasing these days. After all, why spend a fortune on ownership when you could just lease a car from Oz Leasing at zero down payment and much more affordable monthly payments?

Sure, you won’t “own” the car in the traditional sense. But what difference does it make if you legally have the car all to yourself through the leasing period?

Moreover, it’s not like you must return the car at the end of your lease agreement. If you wish, you could always purchase the vehicle at a reasonable amount given what you’ve already spent.

Alternatively, you could also lease a newer model of the same car or lease an entirely different model.

So basically, auto leasing makes the perfect choice for you if you:

1. Want to drive high-end luxury cars without having to worry about the hassles of ownership.

2. Want to stay up to date on the latest models without having to pay out thousands every year or so.

Here’s a rundown of some of the best benefits you get by leasing a luxury vehicle from a nationwide company like Oz Leasing to get your first auto lease:

first auto lease

1) Low Monthly Payments

Unlike buying, leasing a car means you only pay a portion of the car’s total value. More specifically, you only pay for the value of the vehicle during the lease period, also known as the depreciation. That automatically makes monthly payments of a lease considerably more affordable than the payments of a car loan.

Let’s illustrate this with an example:

Say, you are leasing a $50,000 car for two years, and its resale value at the end of the lease agreement is $30,000. Therefore, you will only pay the $20,000 difference (known as the depreciation), which is why leasing offers lower monthly payments than car loan or purchases.

If you do want to purchase the car at the end of the lease, you can buy it by paying off the remaining $30,000.

Note that this is a simplification of the process and doesn’t factor in any other expenses the actual lease agreement might include (e.g., a security deposit).

(Pro tip: The higher the resale value of a car, the lower its depreciation and by extension, the lower its monthly lease payment. Click here for more insider tips to get the best car leasing deals).

2) Little or No Upfront Investment

Buying a car means you have to invest a relatively hefty amount upfront as the down payment. The pricier the car, higher the down payment! But that’s not a worry you have to deal when you lease a vehicle.

Oz Leasing offers zero down payment lease options on all available vehicles on our site. Although, by paying a down payment you will make your monthly payments smaller than they would be on a zero down payment plan.

3) Low Maintenance Cost

If you’re like most of us, you probably despise the idea of making car payments and repair at the same time. Unfortunately, that’s something you most likely will have to do at some point if you purchase a car. As every car ages, it suffers wear and tear.

With auto leasing, your brand spanking new car is covered by factory warranty, meaning you don’t have to worry about making extra room for repairs in your budget. Better still, many brands such as BMW even cover additional expenses, such oil changes, for a limited period.

4) GAP Protection Included

Most car leasing companies, including Oz Leasing, offer automatic built-in GAP coverage. That’s not the kind of advantage you can expect from a car loan or purchase.

GAP coverage, also sometimes referred to as GAP insurance pays for the difference between what you owe on your lease and the current market price of the car in case it is stolen or totaled.

GAP insurance makes a huge difference in your lease, especially so considering that standard auto insurance plans pay only for a car’s net worth at the time of the theft or accident. But when you owe more on your lease than that, GAP insurance will come to the rescue by supplementing the payout you receive from comprehensive or collision coverage.

Not just that, some GAP insurance plans also cover the amount subtracted from the payment of a comprehensive or collision claim.

5) Lower Taxes

When you lease a car, you are not taxed on the full value of the vehicle. Instead, you will only be taxed on the total amount you will be spending on the lease term, saving you a bunch of money. (Remember Benefit #1 above?)

Some of the taxes on a standard car lease agreement include:

  • Sales tax: If you make a down payment on your auto lease, you will be required to pay any state and local sales tax on the down payment amount (also known as the capitalized cost reduction). This amount is payable when you sign the contract.
  • Registration, License, Tag, + Title Fees: These may vary depending on your state and local government laws, though the taxes are the same regardless of whether you buy the car or lease it.
  • Property Tax: Some states impose a property tax on car leases. Check local laws or contact Oz Leasing support for further information.
  • Doc Fee: this is more like an administrative fee charged by dealers.

The Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Buy an Infiniti

The Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Buy an Infiniti 15

3 Reasons 2019 is the Best Year to Buy an Infiniti

It’s time to get a new car, and you know it’s got to be an Infiniti. But which one should you get? There’s the Infiniti Q50, an Infiniti Q60, an Infiniti QX30, and the list goes on.

Each model has its own benefits and perks, and it’s important to weigh all the options before you make your final decision.

1. There’s a Lot of Variety

If you’re looking for a car with a lot of variety, the Infiniti is for you. Infiniti has created vehicles that come in all shapes and sizes, and are perfect for different driving conditions.

If you choose to get a sedan, Infiniti can offer you the new 2019 Infiniti Q50. This vehicle is comfortable, spacious, and sleek. The Q50 comes with all the features of a bigger car, but in a more compact and fuel efficient model.

A high class luxury vehicle like the Infiniti Q60 is a great choice for drivers looking for speed. This vehicle has been designed for speed and high performance in a compact model.

If you need a vehicle that’s somewhere in between, opt for the Infiniti QX60 or the Infiniti QX50. Both these vehicles offer you the space you would need in a large vehicle but in a model built for the city.

2. Advanced Technology

Infiniti vehicles come with a lot of technology built-in, which makes them perfect for the modern driver.

Interactive Display Screen

One feature is the interactive LED display that is included in all 2019 Infiniti vehicles. This feature lets you play music, navigate your car, and secure your vehicle. You can even use the device with voice commands!

All-Wheel Drive

Another reason to buy an Infiniti is that each vehicle comes with all-wheel drive. Even better, the all-wheel drive is intuitive and adapts to different weather conditions. Drive knowing you’re safe with Infiniti’s system.

Safety First

Infiniti puts your safety first. Their vehicles have a “safety shield” which monitors the road around you.

The car warns you when other vehicles are too close or when you are straying outside the road lines. It also adapts to the speed of vehicles in front of you. If another car stops, your car will stop too!

3. Energy Efficient

Infiniti vehicles have great fuel mileage. If you’re looking for a car that takes care of the environment, Infiniti’s got your back.

Several of their cars are hybrid vehicles, which reduce fuel emissions. You can take a look into the 2019 Infiniti Q50, which is a vehicle not only reduces emissions but also operates at an extremely high level of horsepower.

Infiniti’s goal for 2021 is to produce electric vehicles. Supporting Infiniti means supporting a brand that cares about the planet.

Whichever Infiniti you feel is best for you, Oz Leasing is here to help you make that decision. Give us a call now! We’ll get your car lease taken care of.
