5 Tips for Mercedes Owners in 2019

5 Things You Need To Know About Your 2019 Mercedes Benz

Did you just sign a lease for a brand new 2019 Mercedes? This is an exciting time. As a new Mercedes owner, there are some things you should know about your new car. These tips and tricks will keep your new vehicle in mint condition.

1. Learn About Your Battery

The car battery is extremely important in any vehicle. No one wants to have to ask a stranger for a jump! Understanding the battery in your new 2019 Mercedes C300 or 2019 Mercedes CLA250 will help you take good care of your vehicle.

Why It Matters

Mercedes have very high-tech equipment as part of their battery system. You need to pay careful attention to the age of your battery. Once the battery in a Mercedes reaches 5 years or older, it’s time to replace it. Keeping the battery in could lead to lost power and efficiency in your vehicle.

If you don’t change your battery, your car’s control system could begin to crash. For example, your SRS light could turn on at random, or error messages could display on your car’s screen system.

2. Synchronize Your Systems

Did you know that the sunroof and windows can be synched up in any new Mercedes? Whether you drive a 2019 Mercedes GLC 300 or a 2020 Mercedes GLE350, you can synchronize your car systems.

This system lets you move the windows and sunroof with one touch. It’s a very simple system!

Why It Matters

If you replace the battery in your car, you’ll notice that the sunroof and the windows have stopped working properly. They will not open very much at all! It’s important to know how to sync them up so that you can avoid this problem.

Just press and hold the window and sunroof buttons down 5 seconds after they have completely closed. This will re-synchronize the systems.

3. Get The Right Oil

Mercedes need special oil in oil changes. Using the wrong type of oil could cause problems for your car. You should change your oil every 10,000 miles. When you do change it, you’ll need to use Mobil1 0W40 for the oil. This is the only type of oil that should be used on a Mercedes.

Also remember that Mercedes vehicles use fleece oil filters. Other types of oil filters will not work for the same amount of miles as the Mercedes. Be sure to ask your mechanic what equipment he is using during your oil change.

Why It Matters

If you don’t use this type of oil, sludge can buildup in your engine. It can also cause your engine to deteriorate more quickly than it should. Changing your oil less frequently than 10,000 miles can also cause these types of issues, so be careful to get it done on time!

4. Check Your Tires

Did you know that about 80% of US citizens tires are underinflated? You might be driving around on low tires without even knowing it! Make sure to consistently check your tires for the correct pressure so that you can avoid wearing out your tires before their time.

In general, the front tires should have a psi of about 30-33 while the rear tires should be between 35 and 42 psi.

Why It Matters

Low tire pressure is a big concern for car owners because it wears the tires out prematurely and creates more friction on the road. Even worse, it costs you a lot of money. Because underinflated tires get fewer miles on the gallon, it can cost you an extra $600 per year in fuel.

5.Regularly Apply UV Protection

Even if you’ve recently applied UV protectant wax, your car should be regularly coated to keep it fully protected against UV rays.

You can use wax or you can even add a clear coat of paint to keep your car protected from UV rays.

Why It Matters

You might not know this, but drivers actually get UV rays from the sun through their cars windows and exterior. Protect your body against harmful UV rays by properly coating your car in protectant wax or paint.
