Operating on both a 6-speed automatic 1.6-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor for a combined 139 hp with front-wheel drive force of 0-60 seconds in 8.7 seconds. This eco-friendly hybrid outputs an estimated 52 city / 49 highway mpg. Energy is further conserved, and safety maintained, in the advanced regenerative braking system. The 1.56-kWh lithium-polymer battery that a plug-in station or home unit can charge.
As a hatchback, it includes 19.4 cubic feet of rear storage with 60/40-split and 54.5 cubic feet if you have the seats folded back.
Without significantly affecting the fuel efficiency, the Niro has options for keyless start/stop, heated seats, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
While it only includes a rearview camera display as a luxury safety standard, options also include blind-spot monitoring and a host of optional active safety systems
The new 2019 Kia Niro is affordable, quiet, and smooth. It’s a hybrid that doesn’t feel like a hybrid!
